Empowering the Sudanese Community in Victoria

We are dedicated to building bridges between cultures, supporting our community members, and ensuring the Sudanese voice is heard across Victoria.

Cultural & Social Activities

Celebrating our rich Sudanese heritage through cultural festivals, traditional music, dance, food events, and community gatherings that bring families together.

Our Story

A Community Built by Sudanese Victorians, for Sudanese Victorians

For more than 30 years, the Sudanese Community Association of Victoria has been a home away from home for Sudanese families settling in Melbourne and across Victoria. What began as a small group of community members meeting to support one another has grown into a registered association with more than 1,000 members, running cultural festivals, youth education, women's programs, elder care and language classes throughout the year.

Our committee is made up entirely of volunteers from the community itself — people who understand firsthand what it means to build a new life in Australia while keeping Sudanese culture, language and values alive for the next generation. Whether you're newly arrived in Victoria or have called Melbourne home for decades, SCAV exists to make sure no Sudanese Victorian navigates that journey alone.
